Design that gets out of the way.
I'm James Threadgold, a UX & UI designer in Buckinghamshire. I help businesses turn tangled ideas into digital products that are intuitive, engaging and built to perform.
“The best design is the kind people don't notice, because it just works.”
Considered work,
quietly done.
I've spent my career across mobile app design, web design and user research, learning that great products come from understanding people first and pixels second.
My approach is hands-on and collaborative. I sweat the small things: spacing, typography, accessibility, the way a screen responds when you touch it. That's where trust is built. Then I get out of the way and let the work do its job.

01
Understand
Research, interviews and a hard look at the problem before anyone reaches for a tool. Personas and journey maps keep us honest.
-
02
Shape
Sketches, flows and wireframes. We explore broadly, then narrow to the ideas that earn their place.
-
03
Refine
High-fidelity UI and interactive prototypes. This is where spacing, type and motion get the attention they deserve.
-
04
Ship & learn
Close partnership with developers, then test with real people and iterate. Design is never really finished.
